A laptop GPS can gives you a more versatility compared to other GPS systems, which makes it more suitable in a lot of situations. Here are several situations where you can use laptop GPS to save your bacon.
Business Travel. No mater you travel with planes, trains or automobiles, you can take your laptop GPS as your companion. If you have to change your schedule, or maybe your plane is delayed, or there is an emergency and you have to be somewhere else as fast as possible, your laptop GPS will tell your current location, and give you clues how to get to where you want to be.
Suppose, for instance, that you are on your way back home for Christmas in a plane that is headed for Chicago. International Travel. Language sometime can be a big problem on your vacation. Do you know how to ask people in Swahili where the next rest stop is? Or Farsi? It will be able to show you the road to get from Madrid to Versailles or from Baghdad to Beirut, should you want to go there.
Moving to a New Area. By having a laptop GPS when you have to move to a new locale can be your lifesaver. Learning how to get around in a new community is sometime can be very difficult, and having a comforting computerized voice tell you to turn left at the next corner may make the difference between finding the grocery store and being found parked by the side of the road because you are completely lost.
Space Travel. Okay, I know most of us won’t use a laptop GPS for space travel…but it is surely the next thing. Space is not anymore only for official government travellers; tourists can also go there. Your laptop GPS anyway won’t work on the moon, but whenever you are inside the orbit of the satellites, it will tell you exactly where you are, including how high.
Now, you perhaps consider using your laptop GPS for space travel a stretch, but there is a group of people who want to add space jumping to their list of extreme sports. Space jumping is jumping out of a balloon gondola from altitudes so high that the air is too thin for airplanes. Yes, people actually do this. And sure they want to know how high they are, so they can set new records on this and they also need to know where they will land. You can get blown quite a ways off course when you jump from the stratosphere. And a laptop GPS just might come in handy, after all.
